GIVING
Future Associate Pastor Position
In a recent past church business meeting, we approved the establishment of a fund to add an associate pastor who would eventually become the senior pastor. I think this is an important and wise move on behalf of the future of the church. We are in a period of time when there is a shortage of pastors and there seems to be no relief in the immediate future. We have a significant number of pastors who are already retirement age or will be so within the next five years. Going in the direction planned would bring continuity and stability to the future of Blake’s Chapel. We set a goal to try to secure two years salary. This would take pressure off the church and give that person an opportunity to develop in this position. We have set a goal to set aside $80,000. We have approximately $31,492.06 already. You can contribute to this fund by writing a check to Blake’s Chapel and memo it: Associate Pastor’s Fund. We also have a category for this fund online on the website under the “Giving” tab. I have been approached twice by two pastors who have given names of people who they thought would be interested and would be a good fit for this position. I have thanked them for the information, but have told them that we have made a commitment to fund this position for two years before filling it. We ask the church to continue to be prayerful and if God so leads you to contribute to the future of the ministry of Blake’s Chapel in this way, to do so. Thank you.
